Rylan the climber!

With the cold weather soon approaching, Jerrod and I decided it would be good time to search for a climber for Rylan to play on indoors. We were looking for one that Rylan could climb up on, crawl under and one that had a slide on it. We wanted one where Rylan could use his imagination and explore his senses and continue to progress his motor skills. Since Rylan will probably outgrow the climber pretty quick we decided to look on Craigslist. The climber would be going in his playroom so we wanted to make sure we found one that wasn't faded and in good shape. So we searched and searched and finally we came across one that we liked. We checked it out and it was not faded at all, but was quite dirty!!! But we figured with a little TLC we could make it look good as new! So we bought it for a steal and took it home! And boy did Jerrod have his work cut out for him. The climber was pretty darn dirty, but with some extra elbow grease from Jerrod the climber was spic and span!!! We had to let it dry over night before we could put together. So the next day I couldn't wait for Jerrod to get home to put it together so I did it myself! It took quite awhile, but I finally got it together and placed it in Rylan's playroom. Of coarse I didn't let Rylan play on it until Jerrod got home from work. So I kept Rylan out of his playroom and covered the climber with a big sheet. Then when Jerrod came home we let Rylan in his playroom and unveiled the climber!!!! Rylan's face lit up and he raced over to it and looked us and looked back at the climber and looked back at us! It was so funny! I can only imagine what he would be saying if he could talk, LOL! But I will let the pictures speak for themselves! I think it's safe to say Rylan is a happy climber!

Family Day at Fort Harrison State Park

Jerrod and I have been wanting to take Rylan to Fort Harrison Sate Park for a pony ride for awhile now and today was a perfect day to do it! The weather was nice and cool and it was Labor Day so Jerrod had the day off so we could enjoy a nice family day. Today actually felt like fall, which was nice since we just had over 100 degree weather just a couple of days ago. When we got to the stables we could tell Rylan was getting excited. We let him down and he was going straight to the pony gate! We weren't sure if he would be scared or not, but approaching the pony, Goosie, he didn't hesitate at all!! Daddy just put him on it and Rylan held on to the horn of the saddle like a natural. It was the cutest thing! We even asked Rylan to pet the pony and he did with a happy smile on his face and said "Da!" with excitement, which he usually says when he's extremely happy! I held on to the pony's harness and off we went!! Rylan's face was absolutely priceless and showed no fear whatsoever. It was really funny because the pony would sometimes stop and Rylan would start crying or fussing, but a little tickle on the leg of the pony and Goosie would start walking again and Rylan would be happy. Rylan was brave enough to hold on to the horn of the saddle with one hand while the pony was walking and use his other hand to pet the pony. The pony ride was only $3 and it was the best $3 spent because seeing Rylan enjoy it was priceless!

Later, we decided to explore the rest of the park and walk on a trail and let Rylan just walk and run around. Rylan loved walking all over the grass and checking out the dandelions and leaves. And while we were walking the trail he loved looking up at the big trees! It was so amazing to watch Rylan take everything in and see the curiosity in his face. Jerrod and I love day's like this where we can spend a fun peaceful family day together and most of all watch Rylan grow and experience life through his eyes. What a blessed day!

Rylan's first time at the local splash park

It's the end of August and I can't believe it's taken us the whole summer to visit our local splash park that is literally 5 minutes away!!! Our good friends, Jennifer and her cute little ones Mason and future girlfriend Ella, invited us to meet them at the splash park. It was a beautiful day and perfect to be outside. The splash park was nearly empty because the new school year had begun. So it was great for Rylan to just explore the splash park without being overwhelmed with so many kids. Rylan was a little timid at first, but warmed up to it after awhile and enjoyed getting splashed with water. Later, Rylan decided he wanted to explore the play gym and Mason was nice enough to help Rylan navigate through it. Mason even helped Rylan get through a tunnel and Ry was very thankful he made it to the other side :) Rylan and I had a great time and especially spending this beautiful day with great friends!

Rylan not too sure about this, yet

Ok, I'm digging this splash park thing :)
