Birthday boy!

Celebrating Jerrod's birthday was different this year. As adults, birthdays haven't really been a big thing for us and pretty much just another day. Having Rylan in our lives we really want to get back into celebrating birthday's and showing him the act of celebrating! So this year I tried to make it extra special for Jerrod. I had Rylan draw him something (which were scribbles) and I made him a birthday banner. We got him a couple of gifts and surprised him with it on the morning of his birthday. Jerrod LOVED it! It was so much fun seeing Jerrod's face light up on his birthday again when he saw all his goodies! And most importantly it felt really good to put somethin together to make someone feel special and showing Rylan at a young age the act of doing something for someone else. From here on out, blah birthdays out and fun birthdays in!!!

The big 30!!!!

This year I celebrated my big 30 with my lovely husband and great friends! This year was different because  I was able to celebrate it with one of my friends, Jennifer, who's birthday is the day before mine. We've been trying to celebrate our birthday's together for the past couple of years now, but one of us seems to always be prego! But not this year! We both turned 30 and we celebrated with dinner and drinks with our close friends. We kicked off the night with some Japanese food at Wild Ginger and then ended the night with good music and drinks at Hearthstone Coffee and Pub. We had a fantastic night!

Recap on my past 30 years of life...it's been amazing and extremely blessed! Though some times were tough it was all worth it if it meant where I had to be at this very moment. I thank God everyday. I have the best husband who will never know the amount of love and gratitude I have for him...he makes me a better person everyday. And must thank him for keeping me young at heart for making me laugh everyday. I have the most special little boy I love with everything I am and love everyday of every minute I get to spend with him and seeing the world through his eyes. I'm blessed with my family, though we have our differences, I love them so much. Last, but definitely not least, I'm so blessed to be part of the Day family. I've said it before and I'll say it again, they treat me like gold and I am so proud to be a Day.

Cheers to 30 and the years to come!!!

Not so baby anymore

Today was a big event...Rylan had his first haircut! It was bitter sweet for us since we've been holding off for so long. It was the last of his infancy and it was hard to let it go. But after thinking about it for a bit we finally decided it was time to have the mullet cut. Since this event is very important the Day boys we invited grandpa and grandma to come witness this major milestone! We took him to Cookie Cutters and my nerves were all shook up and Jerrod was nervous wondering how well he'd do. As we entered they had Rylan pick out a movie and of course we picked Thomas the Train since he LOVES trains! Then he got to pick out which seat he wanted to sit in and he chose to sit in the police car. Then the sweet lady started cutting his hair. I felt my throat ball up as I watched her cut his hair, but seeing how well he was doing it reminded me of how grown up he is now and I was happy to see him happy and enjoying his first haircut. Rylan was not so baby anymore, but a big boy now!!! We were so proud of him and he looked quite cute at that! And a big Thank You to Grandpa and Grandma for paying for my first hair cut.

Here we go

Rambling about the past few months.......

So it's been awhile since I've posted.....I have to tell ya life gets busy, but I'm back and here to give you a glimpse of whats been going on since the fall. Please mind my random rambling since a lot has happened and I'll be jumping from one thing to another...Starting with Christmas....Rylan really enjoyed his 2nd Christmas! He got tons of gifts he was opening them all day long and we were blessed to have grandpa and grandma spend it with us this year too! We also got to enjoy Christmas at the Zoo this winter season. It was quite chilly, but we enjoyed the lights and sipping on hot chocolate! After Christmas day we also got see Jingle Rails at the Eiteljorg Museum. Rylan loves trains so he was in heaven!! We also checked out Christmas in the Village in the cute town of Zionsville. We went to the opening day and watched the parade and walked around. Rylan even got to ride on a cute train, which he cried when it was time to get off. Poor kid! We spent New Years with one of my besties, Shannon, and as always had a blast ringing in the new year!!! We didn't come home till about 3 AM! Rylan also did MyGym for a couple of months after Christmas so he could get some socialization in. He really enjoyed it and did really well in the activities they did there. Through MyGym we've also met some great friends that we meet on a regular basis now. Rylan ended MyGym at the end of February and he is now taking swim classes, which he is really enjoying and doing so well at! He can blow bubbles in the water, jump in the pool, float on his back (with assistance of course!), and go under water! Its been really fun experiencing that with him. Rylan has also been able to attend his first birthday party for his friend Ingrid. He was the only boy, but he didn't mind it one bit. It was very cute to see him play and enjoy himself. Just recently we celebrated Easter and again were blessed to have grandma and grandpa Day with us along with Auntie Coryn. Rylan got lots of goodies and had tons of fun finding his Easter eggs in our front yard that were filled with goldfish, bunnie cookies, sticker and coins! It was a blast and we all had a wonderful time spending the blessed day with each other.

Here are some pictures from the past few months.....
