Last but not least....The Headless Horseman Festival!

Lastly, to close out the super Fall weekend with Coryn, we took her to the Headless Horseman Festival at Connor Prairie. Every year Connor Prairie, which is an interactive historic settlement site for kids, holds this festival every year and it's so much fun because there is plenty of fun things to do for kids and the adults can enjoy it too! And most of all, it really kicks off the Fall season with Halloween and Thanksgiving soon approaching. We went on their famous hay ride where the Headless Horseman chases us at the end of the ride. The funny thing about the ride was it was all but scary because while the Headless Horseman was chasing us we could see the mans face hiding under the costume and he was laughing at us! After the ride we walked around and checked out the other fun stuff they had going on. We checked out pumpkins getting catapulted out into the fields, checked out the scarecrow contest and even took Rylan to his first puppet show that he actually really enjoyed. There were so many fun things to do and eat of coarse! It was the best way close out the weekend and show Coryn how we celebrate the Fall here in Indy. She had tons of fun and we loved spending the quality time with her and so did Rylan! Now we are looking forward to Thanksgiving since it will be Coryn's first time spending it with us here in Indy :)

Second Fall Festivity....Brown County!!!

Our second event was to take Coryn to Brown County where it's known for it's beautiful scenery for the changing leaves in the Fall. There we stopped by old town Nashville where we walked around to see the cute little shops and some historic sights too. We took her to the General Store and Bakery for their famous fried biscuits and apple butter! She was impressed and enjoyed it very much! We walked around and came upon a shop that had these hats, but in animal form and to be funny we put one on Rylan and look out cause Rylan didn't want to take it off!!! He screamed bloody murder so what do we do?......We buy it!! But it was a smart buy because now he had a winter hat that he actually didn't want to take off and cute at that! After much drama shopping with Rylan we headed over to Valley Branch Retreat to do some zip lining! Since we had Rylan with us Jerrod stayed behind to watch him while Coryn and I went zip lining for the first time. We geared up and we were on our way to our first zip! And WOW! We had an amazing time and what an awesome time of year to be zip lining through the trees in the Fall. It was beautiful and absolutely breath taking as we went from one line to another landing on platforms way up in the trees. We even went over a small lake which was so cool! On one line Coryn actually go stuck!! She was too light and didn't quite make it to the other side so she ended up rolling back, but she didn't mind getting stuck on a line that had the best view and hanging over the lake! She was able to take some great photos and video. After zip lining we met up with Rylan and Jerrod who had been exploring the park together and had a picnic at the park and enjoyed the rest of the day! I think it's safe to say day two of the Fall weekend was also a success :)

Showing Coryn how we celebrate Fall in Indiana! First festivity...The Pumpkin Patch!

Since my little sister moved to Indiana we kept telling her how fun the Fall season is and so what better way to show her how we do it in Indiana than to put the Fall festivities on overload on one weekend. Starting off on a Friday night and taking Coryn to her first pumpkin patch! And yes, that was her first time to a pumpkin patch! And not to mention she had never carved a pumpkin. So it was especially crucial that we give her the whole experience. So went to the pumpkin patch and looked for the perfect pumpkins. Rylan was so funny because he didn't know what to do with so many pumpkins around him and at one point I think he was so overwhelmed he just seemed to be more focused on the red wagons! But it was so much fun seeing Coryn and Rylan's faces light up being at the pumpkin patch! Later that night after Rylan went to bed Coryn and I carved pumpkins and she did an awesome job for it being her first time!! The night was a success!!!

Coryn and Rylan excited to be at the pumpkin patch!

Yee!

Which way do I go!!!???

Can we take this home Daddy??

If only I can pick this pumpkin up!

Coryn's Collegiate Tack Nationals

This past September my little sister Coryn had her first collegiate track nationals in Indianapolis racing for her school Marian University and we were lucky enough to watch it because her school was hosting the event. We had an amazing time watching the races and cheering for Coryn and the school. She won 7 U.S. Collegiate National Titles that weekend!!! And we were so happy to share the wins with her, especially Rylan! We couldn't have been more proud and enjoyed every bit of the exciting races.

Rylan was very popular with the Marian ladies!
