Happy Birthday Coryn!!

My little sister, Coryn, just moved to Indianapolis to go to school at Marian College and she spent her first Indiana birthday on August 26th. As a gift we wanted to take her to dinner so the weekend following her birthday we picked her up from school and took her to the Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown Indianapolis. Downtown was so crowded with motorcycles and then we realized it was the weekend of the Moto GP. Luckily parking wasn't too bad and it was neat to walk around and see so many bikes! And of coarse Rylan enjoyed seeing the mo mo's! And I must add, that Jerrod did too and he had that look in his eye of riding on his own motorcycle one day. Dinner was really good and Rylan made a huge mess under him! He probably had a whole loaf of bread crumbs under him. He also loved the Spamoni ice cream that Jerrod and I had to take turn feeding him because we were not fast enough. We had a great time having dinner and spending time with Coryn and it was nice to hear how her first of week of school went too :) Most of all Rylan enjoyed spending time with his Auntie Coryn and I'm sure Coryn loved spending time with Rylan too. We look forward to spending more time with Coryn and I have to say that I am extremely happy that my little sister is so close now instead of 2000 miles away in California. Welcome to Indiana little Seester!!! Happy Birthday! We love you!!!

Splashing around!

Our good friends Ashley and Carson invited us to go to the pool and take advantage of the warm weather left in our summer season. Soon Fall will be here and we'll bundling up instead of splashing in the pool. Of coarse, Rylan and I agreed to some fun in the sun and especially because Rylan loves splashing in the water. Before we went to the pool I decided to stop by Target to pick up a baby float so Rylan can enjoy floating in the water. Lucky me most of the summer stuff was on clearance! So I found a great float and hoped that Rylan would enjoy it. When we got to the pool Rylan was so excited and kept pointing to the water. The water was a bit chilly, but with the warm sun I didn't think it would bother Rylan to much. So I got him dressed and placed him in his new float and boy did he love it!!! He was so excited he was kicking his feet under the water and just splashing away! I was shocked because the chilly water did not phase him at all. I loved seeing his face get so excited and although the pictures didn't seem like he was having fun I assure you he really did have a blast and you'll see from the video too :)

A play date kind of day!

Today was a day that Rylan and I needed a day to get out and have some fun, so I called our good friend Ashley and her cute little boy Carson to meet us at the mall so the kids could play at the indoor play area and go for our favorite treat Auntie Annie's Pretzels. Then while we were there we decided to take the kids on a train ride that the mall offered. Rylan loved it and waved at the people we passed by. Ashley enjoyed the ride as well, but Carson was not very impressed as he was asleep by the end of the train ride! It was pretty funny! I loved the train ride and thought it was so cute that I think I had more fun on it than Rylan did! Ha Ha! We will definitely be going back so Rylan can enjoy it again. We had an awesome time letting the kids play, eating our favorite snack and taking a ride on the train with Ashley and Carson. We are looking forward to having another play date with them soon!

Best Friend in Town!!!

One of my best friends, Suong, got married over the summer and just a week after her wedding she decided to come visit us! It was a surprise! Well kind of, it was a spur of the moment kind trip after being able to get a cheap flight offered by one of her friends. Although she was flying standby and we didn't know when she was arriving and when she would have to go home we were happy that she was coming to visit. After much planning for a couple of days Suong finally made it to Indiana! She arrived on a Tuesday and we just hung out and did some catching up. The next day was a fun day and we spent the day at the local water park in Carmel. We had so much fun and Rylan enjoyed hanging out with his Auntie Suong!!!

Later that day Rylan had his first little Bunny Hop class at the local library, which is a class where they read books, sing and play with other babies his age. Rylan had a lot of fun and Daddy even got of work early to come to his first class.

Then we ended the night with dinner at Texas Road House! Yum!

Unfortunately, Suong was not able to stay for very long and had to leave after a couple of days, but we enjoyed the time spent with her. Thank you for visiting us! We love you! Until next time......

So I've decided to start a blog for our little family......

I've been thinking of doing a blog for long time now for my family and friends who would like to keep up with our little family. Now that Rylan is growing so fast I can't believe I'm just now doing this! It's already been a little over a year since our little guy has come into this world and since I'm not scrap booking anymore this is a better way to journal all of Rylan's milestones and easily share them with the people we love! So here I go.....introducing the Day Family!!
